Bradley had his second swimming lesson tonight. It seems to be going well, he’s just getting used to being in the water with arm bands minus his beloved rubber ring! The instructors are trying to encourage water on the face by wearing goggles but he didn’t much like the part where he had to put his face ‘into’ the water to see a hoop that had sunk to the bottom – I could just see him vigorously shaking his head at the instructor holding him (bless him)!

I was quite pleased that he managed to bag a free pair of goggles! Bradley didn’t have any goggles and last week and the life gaurd offered to lend me some from a huge selection in a carrier bag stuffed full of ‘left behind’ ones – I chose some cool bright neon green ones. When the lesson was over I said to Bradley I would buy him some. “Green ones mummy” Bradley replied “with the tick on”. Great. Speedos! why do I always go for the expensive stuff!? Anyway, this week, the same life gaurd was there and I said I hadn’t had chance to get into town could I borrow some, he gave me the green ones remembering they were the same as last week (and probably Bradley’s delighted face!), I joked about having expensive taste and I have to find the same pair “you can have those” he said! Brilliant – I love freebies and Bradley looks so cool!

Kids, don’t you just love their honesty. Bradley asked me recently if boys could dye their hair. I said they can but not many do, and if they do it’s when they’re older. I asked him why, did he want to dye his? “No Mummy” he replied “but you’re hair will be black soon so you’d best do yours”. Thanks Bradley perhaps don’t remind me when we’re in public!
